Meet The Team!

MEET HEATHER Hi I'm Heather! I am a licensed mental health counselor providing counseling services to adults in the Spokane area. I specialize in working with adults who are struggling with anxiety, self-esteem, life transition, and relational distress. As part of the human experience, we sometimes encounter events and stressors that require extra support. I hold a consideration for how someone developed their understanding and perspective of the world, while focusing on its impact now and how we can create more positive experience. Through a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) lens, we will identify the factors that influence how you interpret the various struggles or problems in your life. Once we better understand the needs and experiences of the individual and their body, we can move forward with building more supportive approaches and experiences of ourselves, others, and the world around us. MEET CHIP Chip is a trained and certified animal assisted therapy companion. Like many individuals we work with, Chip has his own experience with struggle. Chip was born into, and spent the first year of his life in a hording environment. Since his removal from that situation, Chip experienced a variety of new and challenging milestones ahead of him. Chip is now supporting others on their own journey through life adjustment and growth. When animals are involved in the therapeutic process, this can help an individual view and accept themselves on an even deeper level. Chip helps create a space to model acceptance, and provide a unique chance for skill building and compassion. When you can truly let your guard down, you can more clearly see those unhelpful thinking styles, lack of self compassion, or ineffective coping strategies that are contributing to distress. And then together, we can make positive change. Certification: Canine Good Citizen Certification Please be aware that chip is not in the office every day! As his handler my priority is ensuring Chip's enthusiastic engagement in the work day. Just like people, sometimes he needs a break too.
